A saddle fitting will take 1-1/2 hours. Measurements and evaluations must take place on a flat surface with the horse standing quietly. The client should be prepared to ride in several saddles with the goal to find a saddle or two for further test rides. It is the client’s responsibility to protect the saddles from wear and tear and return them to The Happy Horse Tack Shop. Generally, saddle fittings require a follow up appointment. Saddle checks take no more than 15 minutes and often require additional adjustments and recommendations. The horse should be fully tacked up and on a level surface. Our expert blanket wash and repair provider picks up and drops off every Wednesday. You are welcome to bring your products in at your convenience and they will be serviced that upcoming Wednesday, and dropped back off the following Wednesday. General price ranges are as follows:
Happy Horse accepts select saddles on consignment at a rate of 25% commission. Saddles are contracted for 4 months (occasionally longer at the discretion of The Happy Horse team). The seller can make arrangements to pick the saddle up at any time. The seller will be notified once their contract has expired and asked to pick the saddle up if it has not sold. It is the seller’s responsibility to pick-up saddle or make arrangements to have the saddle shipped. If your saddle sells a check will be mailed to you. The Happy Horse is not responsible for saddles left out of contract for more than 30 days after notification.
The Happy Horse accepts select apparel and tack on consignment. Items must be clean and in good repair. Items are contracted for 6 months and it is the seller’s responsibility to pick the items up after contract has expired. Commission fees are 40% for cash pay out and 30% for store credit. The Happy Horse is not responsible for items left out of contract for more than 30 days.
We invite you to test ride saddles even if you don’t choose to schedule a saddle fitting. We ask for a $25 test ride fee per saddle. Test ride fees within 30 days are credited towards the purchase of a new saddle through The Happy Horse.
All returned items must be in new condition with the tags, original packaging, and invoice. Items returned within 7 days will qualify for the full refund in the original form of payment. Items returned within 30 days will qualify for an exchange or store credit. All sales final on closeouts, consignments, bits, and saddles.
Happy Horse makes every effort to contact customers regarding repairs or consignment items/saddles that need to be picked up. The Happy Horse Tack Shop is not responsible for any item left at the shop for more than 30 days. It is the customer’s responsibility to make arrangements to have the items shipped or picked up if they cannot pick it up.
All customers qualify for 5% credit back at the Happy Horse. Members of some clubs, barns, and other affiliations qualify for a 10% credit. Credits are totaled after 5 purchases and expire after 6 months. Closeouts, consignments, sale items, and services do not qualify for Bonus Bucks. Ask for your Bonus Bucks card at your next visit to The Happy Horse.
The Happy Horse is happy to take payments over the phone and ship items to any continental US address. We use UPS or USPS for our shipping services. The client is responsible for shipping charges if their invoice totals under $100. The Happy Horse offers free shipping if the invoice totals $100 or more. Tracking information is provided upon request.
